Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for controlling operation of a reciprocating compressor is capable of reducing a stroke estimation error by eliminating an error that occurs due to resistance and inductance of a compressor motor by estimating a stroke with a counter electromotive force induced by a searching coil. Furthermore, by leaving errors of inductance and resistance, among all motor parameters, out of consideration in stroke estimation, a stroke estimation error can be reduced.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method are disclosed for controlling operation of a compressor capable of greatly decreasing a stroke estimation error of a compressor and controlling operation of the compressor accurately and precisely. The method includes calculating a first stroke estimation value of a compressor on the basis of current, a voltage applied to a motor of a compressor and preset parameters of the motor. Detecting a counter electromotive force of the motor and calculating a second stroke estimation value of the compressor on the basis of the detected counter electromotive force value. Determining a new stroke reference value by comparing the first stroke estimation value with the second stroke estimation value, adding or subtracting a stroke compensation value corresponding to the comparison result to or from a preset stroke reference value, and controlling a stroke of the compressor by varying a voltage applied to the motor on the basis of the determined stroke reference value and the first stroke estimation value.
Abstract:
A reciprocating compressor includes a case having a gas suction pipe and a gas discharge pipe. A frame unit is installed in the case and a compression unit, including a cylinder is installed in the frame unit. The compression unit has a plurality of slots formed in a longitudinal direction on its outer circumferential surface. A piston is coupled with a reciprocating motor so as to linearly and reciprocally move into and out of the cylinder and has a plurality of through holes formed at its outer side, communicating with the slots. The compression unit has a gas muffler member installed at an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder.
Abstract:
A coil winding number variable type motor for varying a cooling and heating capacity of a reciprocating motor includes: a plurality of coils separately wound and connected in series to each other so as to vary turn ratio among motor coils; a plurality of relays respectively connected between adjacent coils among the plurality of coils; and a relay controller for outputting and ON/OFF control signal for varying the winding number of the motor coil and controlling the relays according to a change in a load and a power supply voltage. The coil wound in the motor of the reciprocating compressor is divided into the main coil and the plurality of sub-coils and the winding number of the motor coil is varied by itself to control the stroke of the reciprocating compressor, thereby effectively coping with the change in the voltage or the load.
