    Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling a soft buffer size in a wireless communication system is provided. It is assumed that a user equipment (UE) is connected to both a long-term evolution (LTE) system and a new radio access technology (NR) system in dual connectivity. The UE determines a first UE capability for the LTE system and a second UE capability for the NR system, determines a total soft buffer size based on the first UE capability and the second UE capability, and shares the total soft buffer size between the LTE system and the NR system based on at least one of a maximum transport block size (TBS) per transmission time interval (TTI) and a number of carriers used in the NR system.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein a method of, at a user equipment (UE), reporting channel quality information for three-dimensional (3D) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission to a base station in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving information for vertical cycling beamforming from the base station, calculating the channel quality information using the information for the vertical cycling beamforming, on the assumption that different vertical beamforming is circularly applied in a predetermined resource unit to receive a downlink signal, and reporting the calculated channel quality information to the base station.

A method for enabling a user equipment (UE) to receive a downlink signal from an eNB including a plurality of antenna ports in a wireless communication system includes: receiving a precoded reference signal according to a precoded reference signal configuration for the plurality of antenna ports; measuring receive (Rx) power of the reference signal for each of the plurality of antenna ports; and reporting, to the eNB, at least one of Rx power values of the reference signal, measured for the plurality of antenna ports.
