Abstract: An electric kettle may include: a body (10) receiving water or food therein; a lid (20) configured to shield an open upper side of the body (10); a base (60) provided at a lower side of the body (10) and configured to support the body (10); a heating module (50) provided in a side of the body (10) and configured to apply heat to the body (10) such that the content contained in the body (10) is heated; and a handle (40) provided at a side of the body (10) and configured to be held by hand, wherein a control means (45) is provided in the handle (40), the control means (45) being configured to control power supplied to the heating module (50) or to control a temperature of the content contained in the body (10).
