    Abstract: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and an inverter PCB(Printed Circuit Board) are provided to minimize the power loss caused by absorption of a line of electric force by shielding separately a transformer as a nonmagnetic substance, thereby relieving power consumption of an inverter and preventing EMI from the outside. An LCD includes an LCD panel, a driving unit, a backlight unit, an inverter PCB, a transformer, and a shielding unit(700). The driving unit drives the LCD panel. The backlight unit supplies light to the LCD panel. The inverter PCB drives the backlight unit. The transformer is mounted on the PCB to transform a voltage supplied to the backlight unit. The shielding unit is mounted on the PCB to intercept the transformer from EMI(Electromagnetic Interference).

    Abstract: A backlight unit of an LCD is provided to facilitate a fabrication thereof and make it suitable for a large LCD by electrically connecting MCPCBs(Metal Core Printed Circuit Boards) using a connection line. A first MCPCB and a second MCPCB include a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted thereon and drive the light emitting diodes. A bottom cover(60) includes first and second openings separated from each other at a predetermined distance, and the MCPCBs are installed on a front surface of the bottom cover. A first connector is electrically connected to the first MCPCB, and passes through the first opening to be exposed to a back surface of the bottom cover. A second connector is electrically connected to the second MCPCB, and passes through the second opening to be exposed to the back surface of the bottom cover. Connection lines(56,66) electrically connect the first and the second connectors at the back surface of the bottom cover.
