    Abstract: A thin film transistor array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent deterioration of display quality by preventing off-current from being generated in a semiconductor pattern. Gate lines(102) and data lines(104) are intersected each other, with a gate insulating layer(144) being interposed between the lines. A thin film transistor(106) is formed on an intersecting region of the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode(118) is connected to the thin film transistor. The thin film transistor has a gate electrode(108) connected to the gate line, a semiconductor pattern(147) overlapped with the gate electrode, a source electrode(110) connected to the semiconductor pattern and the data line, and an oxide layer(160) covering the gate electrode.
