    Abstract: An optical member, a backlight assembly having the same, and a display device having the same are provided to prevent the optical member from being bent, thereby improving the display quality of an image, by using a flexure suppressing member inserted into a through hole formed in the optical member. An optical member comprises a first face(110) for receiving a light, a second face(120) facing the first face to output the light, a through hole(130) penetrating the first face and the second face, and an expansion portion(135) formed at one of both entrances of the through hole. A flexure suppressing member passes through the through hole, wherein flexure suppressing member has a protrusion, which is caught on the expansion portion of the through hole.

    Abstract: A backlight unit for an LCD is provided to prevent detachment of an edge portion of an optical sheet caused by pullback of a support main by forming a plurality of optical sheet having streamlined edges along a longitudinal direction. A light guide plate(126) is received on a reflective plate(122). Fluorescent lamps(124a,124b) are arranged in a longitudinal direction of the light guide plate. A plurality of optical sheets(128) are received on the light guide plate, and have streamlined edges in a longitudinal direction. The optical sheet has the edge of an streamlined shape in a longitudinal direction. The fluorescent lamps are formed at both sides of the light guide plate or are configured as a bi-layered structure.
