Abstract: A liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the same are disclosed in the present invention. The display device includes a first substrate having a liquid crystal display panel region divided by a pixel area and a dummy area, wherein a plurality of thin film transistors and pixel electrodes are formed in the liquid crystal display panel region, a second substrate having a black matrix, a sealant located in a peripheral region of the liquid crystal display panel region between the first and second substrates, a plurality of column spacers only in the pixel area of the liquid crystal display panel region, and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.
