Abstract: A stretching device is mounted to a positioning portion of furniture and includes a motor, a telescopic rod, and a handlebar. The motor is activatable for moving the telescopic rod in a retracting or extending direction. The telescopic rod is located in a position corresponding to a backrest of the furniture and includes an upper end fixed to the handlebar to move therewith. The handlebar is located on top of the furniture and includes a pair of grips. The handlebar further includes at least one button for controlling turning directions of the motor. When a user sits or lies in the furniture with two hands grasping the grips, a body of the user is stretched when the button is pushed to cause the motor to turn in a direction for moving the telescopic rod in the extending direction.

Abstract: A chair includes a base 1, having a front end and a rear end, a seat 2 mounted above the base 1, and an operative mechanism. The operative mechanism includes a telescopic rod 32 that is adjustable in length. The telescopic rod 32 has an upper end 322 pivotally connected to a front section 21 of the seat 2. At least one supporting rod 31 has a front end 311 pivotally connected to the front end of the base 1 and a rear end 312 pivotally connected to a rear section 22 of the seat 2. When the length of the telescopic rod 32 is increased, the seat 2 is elevated and supported by the supporting rod 31 and the telescopic rod 32. The operative mechanism may further include a motor 5, to move the telescopic rod 32, which is operable via a switch 331 on the armrest 24. The front and rear sections 21, 22 of the seat 2 may be pivotally coupled and the lower end 321 of the telescopic rod 32 may be pivotally mounted to a lower portion of the rear end of the base 1.
