Abstract: An electric massage device comprises a motor (1, fig 2), a base (2, fig 2), at least one gear train (3, fig 2) including a 'face-type' driven gear 32 rotatably supported in the base, at least one movable member 4, and at least one massage member 6 connected to the moveable member 4 to move therewith. The driven gear 32 is driven by an output shaft (11, fig 2) of the motor. The driven gear 32 includes 'cam-like' engaging grooves 321 in a side thereof. The movable member 4 includes a toothed portion 41 having a plurality of teeth. The engaging grooves 321 of the driven gear 32 and the teeth 41 of the movable member 4 are so configured that when the motor turns in a direction, the movable member 4 is rotated, and that when the motor turns in a reverse direction, the movable member 4 moves reciprocatingly.

The engaging grooves of the driven gear and the teeth of the movable member are so configured that when the output shaft turns in a direction, the movable member and the massage member are turned, and that when the output shaft turns in a reverse direction, the movable member and the massage member move reciprocatingly.
