Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ester which is derived from an animal fat or a vegetable oil and used as an additive for a low-sulfur diesel fuel and not only functions as a combustion deposit improver but also improves the lubricating properties of a diesel fuel. SOLUTION: This ester comprises at least one low-sulfur diesel fuel and an ester obtained by the transesterification reaction of at least one vegetable oil triglyceride of the formula with an alcohol of the formula: R OH. In the formulas, R , R and R are each an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group having a degree of monounsaturation of at least 60% and having about 6 to about 24 carbon atoms; R is an aliphatic group having 1 to about 24 carbon atoms, and the vegetable oil triglyceride is genetically modified sunflower oil, genetically modified safflower oil, genetically modified corn oil, genetically modified cotton seed oil, genetically modified palm oil, genetically modified soybean oil or genetically modified seed read oil.

In one embodiment, the composition further comprises (E) at least one cosurfactant distinct from component (C); in one embodiment, (F) at least one organic cetane improver; and in one embodiment, (G) at least one antifreeze. The invention also relates to a method for fueling an internal combustion engine comprising fueling said engine with the composition of the present invention.
