Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtains a receiver which detects a differential modulation code with an error rate lower than that using differential detection decoding it by calculating an extrinsic and a priori information and accurately detecting information carried by a code by using such information. SOLUTION: A communication system 200 fits a Markoff's process and generates an iterative receiver 300 by a modulator 206, and it is used to receive a sample yi being a code Xi propagating through a channel 208. Then, the code Xi represents a Markoff's chain. The system 200 has a transmitter composed of a write encoder 202. The system 200 has plural transmitters and receivers in a general form and can use a Markov differential modulator that is not an M-DPSK modulator. This method uses a software output connected to a priori information algebraically, detects a received sample at a low rate and obtains an extrinsic information.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently calculate reliability information through the use of a software output detector by receiving first and second samples from a transmitted symbol, evaluating an algebraic expression on the samples and a priori information and deriving reliability information from the algebraic expression. SOLUTION: A reception device (a) receives samples ya,m-1 and ya,m (402). The group (ya,m-1 h*a,m-1 x*m-1) of a first product and the group (ya,m h*a,m x*m) of a second product are evaluated and stored. The products are calculated related to all possible symbols xa and xm-1 (406). When the received sample is generated in a modular without a memory, a representative expression generated by calculating reliability information is derived (410), and an a priori items is added (411). A maximum value is derived from the group of a decided value. The group of the value is decided by selecting the list of a value, corresponding to the symbol xm associated with a bit with which reliability information is calculated (418).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interleave information so that de-correlation existing in a communication channel for transmitting information can be used as much as possible without extending delay time so much when information is transmitted. SOLUTION: In this method for interleaving information transmitted through a wireless communication system, respective information blocks are separately divided before interleaving for uniformly dividing the information blocks and shortening delay time. The prescribed part of the information block transmitted by a user is transmitted between allocated time slots. The remaining part of the information block is transmitted to one another time slot with the part of the different information block of the user. The time slot is selected so that time required for transmitting the whole information blocks is prevented from remarkably increasing compared to a conventional interleaving method.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign a network device of a cellular communication system to a different user assigned to a specific cell and to increase the capacity of the communication system without deteriorating the quality of communication served to users of the system thereby. SOLUTION: A signal of a user is received and the strength of the signal is determined. The user is assigned to a 1st type or a 2nd type of a network user based on an upper or lower threshold of the signal of the user. A network provider defines the threshold. When the signal strength is lower than a 2nd threshold, the user is handed off to other network device of an adjacent cell. Thus, the communication system can increase the capacity while maintaining the quality permissible of communication to the user.
