    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide seamless telephone communication extending over all various telephone functions by providing a device server and call coordinator, which are mutually connected to a network to use a common protocol and which use two basic resource types, that is, coupling the device server and call coordinator in a client/server configuration. SOLUTION: A standard simple conventional telephone service POTS telephone set 101 is connected via a POTS interface to a telephone set device server 103. The telephone set device server 103, call coordinator 105 and line device server 107 are connected to a data network 109 such as the Internet, for example, or internet by a data link 115 such as TCP/IP link, for example. For example, transmitted data 220 is received from the remote access function 185, an essential link layer framing is added to it, the bit stream is modulated and transmitted to the communication channel 165 by the DSL interface 180 at a transmitting side. Thus, the DSL interface 180 is constructed so that itself is suited to a client.

The DSL router 175 includes a remote access function 185 and a DSL transceiver 180. The function 185 executes various high-level protocol operation, which is required for defining and positioning communication between a subscriber's private branch device 170 and a service provider private branch device 101, such as packet multiplexing and authentication. The transceiver 180 facilitates dynamic adjustment of the attribute of the channel 165 in order to satisfy a varying band width request.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic path designation method for wireless communication and its device. SOLUTION: A soft switch is used to mark all end points relating to a call, a path for wireless communication is dynamically designated, a message is generated as the entry of marked end points is updated and the message is sent to the soft switch. Receiving the message, the soft switch recalculates a series of updated network resources required to maintain this call, (i) instructs the updated network resource to negotiate medium transfer, (ii) transmits a proper call start message to a new resource after receiving an affirmative reply from the new resource and (iii) transmits a call release message to a preceding old resource that supports the call. The selection of a required and indispensable resource relating to a specific call is driven by the intelligence of a communication network topology. Thus, a resource closer to the end points is selected in terms of the topology and then the efficiency of the network resource can be enhanced on the basis of the network scale reference.

SOLUTION: A user telephone set is connected via device servers 101-1 and 101-2 to a packet network. The packet network decides a called party, in response to a request to conference calls, and selects conference bridges 107-2 and 107-N so as to minimize the costs of the conference calls, and when the participants of the conference calls are changed, it selects new conference bridges so as to minimize the costs of the conference calls constituted of the changed participants, then an information flow from all the participants is directed to the new conference bridges. Once the change to the new conference bridges is completed, the previous bridges are released so as to be used for other conference calls.
