Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for improving optical crossconnect. SOLUTION: A switch for improving the optical crossconnect is arranged in front of a processor. This makes the processor serve not for a particular link or exclusively for a signal. This device is connected or disconnected to/from an optical link by the switch, if necessary, to perform a plurality of processing functions (for example, reproduction, Raman pumping, dispersion equalization/ compensation, or performance monitoring).
