Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the layout of circuitry necessary for fusing a programmable fuse by providing an integrated circuit fuse weakening the fuse or including a shape changing the fuse by other methods. SOLUTION: A pair of via holes 22 is formed adjacent to a fuse 20 so as to cross the selected part of the fuse 20. As the result of a process used for manufacturing an integrated circuit related to the fuse 20, a contracted part 23 is formed by the fuse 20 between the via holes 22. Thus, the via holes 22 can be set to various forms and sizes according preference to manufacture a contracted part 23 of desired form, size and number. The fuse 20 of the contracted part 23 is changed so that the fuse 20 can be operated with a current smaller than the current quantity required to blow out the fuse 20 in the unchanged state.
