Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the exchange filter bank that is used for an audio signal coding and represents the signals in a compact manner even though an unusual signal is included. SOLUTION: The audio signal coding technology employs a first filter bank 204 and a signal adaptive type switching filter bank 202 which has a wavelet filter bank 208. The bank 202 is switched between the banks 204 and 208 in order to filter input signals as a normal function of the signals. The bank 204 is used to filter the normal signal components. The bank 208 is used to filter abnormal signal components (for example, an attack).
