    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system where a confusing effect of an arrived call that may be given onto a meeting on progress can be minimized and a user of a wireless phone can minimize inconvenience of a caller of the arrived call. SOLUTION: The telephone set includes an answer-and-hold function. The telephone set replies an arrived call depending on the entry of the user, outputs a greeting message in response to the arrived call and keeps the connection state. Thus, the called party can modestly hold the call to be in the connection state until the called party reaches a convenient state of conversation entry. For example, the wireless phone of this invention includes a controller, a user entry unit and a message transmission unit. The controller allows the message transmission unit to output a specific transmission message in response to the arrival of the call and a specific instruction from the user entry unit. The controller maintains the connection state of the arrived call so that the user can communication with the caller at a point of time after the greeting message is started.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an appropriate proportion between preservation of old messages and storage of new message even when a memory is fully occupied by newly storing a voice message if a cyclic message storage selection function is active so as to automatically overwrite a previously stored voice message. SOLUTION: When a switch is inactivated, the storage of a cyclic message is disabled for voice messages stored later, and this disabled state continues till the storage is made possible by activating a cyclic message storage selector 120. By permitting the cyclic message storage when the memory 100 is fully occupied, an oldest voice message in the memory 100 among voice messages arranged in time sequence from the oldest voice message to the newest one is automatically overwritten till a sufficient capacity of a voice message memory 100 becomes idle so that a newly received voice message can be stored.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a caller that a sound message is reproduced by a user by permitting a controller to start a recognition message to the caller based on reproduction of the sound message of the caller, which is stored in a sound memory by an automatic caller calling back module. SOLUTION: The automatic answering telephone system 10 contains an automatic caller call back module 26. The automatic caller call back module 26 controls the automatic answering telephone system 10, off-hooks a telephone line interface 17, calls an associated telephone number and reproduces a recognition message. The recognition message can immediately be reproduced based on the response of a call back call, or the detection of a silence period after sound is detected. The automatic caller call back module 26 causes a controller 24 to start the recognition message to the caller based on the reproduction of the sound message of the caller, which is stored in the sound message memory 21.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable call transfer from a telephone set capable of using a function of a three-direction call by temporarily holding an incoming connection call in a standby state, calling the telephone number of the transfer destination, retrieving the incoming connection call from the standby state and connecting the incoming connection call to the telephone number of the transfer destination. SOLUTION: A call transfer unit 113 temporarily holds the incoming connection call received from a telephone line 107 in the standby state, calls the telephone number of the transfer destination and retrieves the incoming connection call in the standby state later for connecting the incoming connection call to the telephone number of the transfer destination. For example, caller ID data related to the received incoming connection call are analyzed and from the analyzed result, the telephone number of the transfer destination is called through the telephone line 107. Such a call transfer unit 114 performs switching hook operation for holding the incoming connection call in the standby state, calls the telephone number of the transfer destination (the telephone number of the office of a user), retrieves the incoming connection call from the standby state and finishes a call transfer process by performing the other switching hook operation.
