    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the integrated circuit area of a multiplier for the multiplication of a filter coefficient to filter a diffusion data stream for transmission in a broad band code division multiple access(WB-CDMA) communication system. SOLUTION: A system is provided with a step 702 for executing filtering by a raised cosine(RRC) filter using one-bit multiplier in a plurality of diffusion user data streams and a step 703 for connecting the plurality of user data streams being the sequence of one-bit value. The RRC filter filters the diffusion user data streams before or after the connection of the diffusion user data streams through the use of an FIR filter including one-bit coefficient or a multi- bit coefficient.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a private area, and to improve linearity by providing first and second resistance parts at each cell, and directing the center line of at least one cell to a direction which is not perpendicular to the whole direction of a resistance string. SOLUTION: This integrated circuit is provided with the strings of resistance cells 22, 24, 26, and 28 in almost the same shape forming a resistor string. Each cell is provided with first resistance parts 50 and 58 and second resistance parts 52 and 60. Center lines 60 and 68 of at least one cell are directed to a direction which is not perpendicular to the whole direction of the resistor string, preferably, a direction at 45. The plural cells of the resistor string are continued, and this is formed of the first resistance part of a certain cell and the second resistance part of the adjacent cell. The cells of the resistor string can obtain various kinds of shapes. Preferably, the all cells of the resistor string is formed in the same shape. This shape is preferably a hexagon, and it can be another shape, for example, a trapezoid.

    Abstract: A transmit portion of a WB-CDMA transceiver generates one or more sprea d data streams having values represented by a single bit, allowing for filteri ng of spread and combined data streams with a root raised cosine (RRC) filter employing single-bit multipliers. The RRC filter is a digital filter that i) employs multiplicati on of two values in which the length of at least one value is one bit; ii) is preferably implemented with muxs or a simple logic operator; and iii) may employ upsampling and modulati on encoding of filter coefficients to reduce the coefficient length to, for example, one bit. The RRC filter may be an FIR filter having either one-bit or multi-bit coefficients, and apply RRC filtering to a spread user stream either before or after the sprea d user streams are combined. For some implementations, RRC filters are employed to filter each spread user stream prior to combining several processed user steams. For other implementations, the multi-bit valued data stream representing the combined user streams is upsampled to form an upsampled data stream of single-bit values, and RRC filtering is then applied to the upsampled data stream. Alternatively, implementations may use upsampled RRC filter coefficients that allow RRC filtering on the combined spread user streams represented as asequence of multi-bit values.
