    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal mobile phone system, adopting the WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) technology or a wireless communication system which adopts the third generation general partnership program. SOLUTION: A code, in an incoming signal from a different source, is specified, using a code adaptive filter to apply cross-correlation on the code. A multiplexer samples signals from P-sets of sources at a rate of a multiple of P, with respect to a chip rate of the code in the incoming signal. The multiplexer applies time multiplex processing to the received signal and supplies the result to one delay line, consisting of N-stages and having P-sets of elements. Each stage stores one sampling value from among P-sets of sources. The selected element of each stage provides an output to an input, corresponding to a dot product summing chain of the code adaptive filter, so as to establish cross-correlation to each incoming signal.
