Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the function property of a frequency division duplex system by receiving a frequency in a first frequency band at a regular mode, receiving the frequency in a second frequency band at an acquisition operation mode, transmitting the frequency in a third frequency band at a regular operation mode and transmitting the frequency in the second frequency band at the acquisition operation mode. SOLUTION: A duplex mode transmitter/receiver 200 contains a walkie/ talkie(WT) module 280, generates a W-T mode transmission signal in an intermediate frequency band and takes out an audio signal from an RF signal received during a W-T mode. The duplex mode receiver/transmitter 200 uses a duplexer 220, an antenna 23, a reference originator 210, an input audio amplifier 204, a transmission amplifier 216, an RF amplifier 232 and an output audio amplifier 242 at a regular mode and the W-T operation mode. The function of a radio machine for transmission/reception can effectively be realized by reducing the necessary number of components.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve out of band spectrum discharge without the sacrifice of the efficiency of an amplifier and without causing signal distortion by allocating corresponding channels to respective base stations based on a divided random number set. SOLUTION: A random number generator 16 generates a random number set formed of N-pieces of random numbers between '0' and '1'. A processor 14 stores the set of N-pieces of random numbers in an array a(i). The arrays a(i) are sorted in an ascending order in accordance with the value of the generated random numbers and the sorted arrays a(i) are stored as a list b(I). An index sorted-ch(I) is defined so that it satisfies a[sorted-ch(I)]=b(I). Then, sorted-ch(I) is divided into K-pieces of sectors. The processor 14 judges whether two channel numbers whose difference is not more than a prescribed number (n) exist in any sector. A previous step is repeated for obtaining j-pieces of sets for allocating the channel number and the best set in j-pieces of sets is selected.

Abstract: A set of N random numbers is generated with each number corresponding to a channel number and the numbers are partitioned into sectors, each corresponding to a geographical region served by one base station, before channels are assigned to each base station according to the partitioned set of numbers. If there are two channel numbers in any sector whose difference is equal to or less than a predetermined number n, they are separated into different sectors. An independent claim is included for apparatus for assigning N frequency channels for use by base stations.

Abstract: A dual mode transmitter/receiver adds two-way radio functionality to a frequency division duplex mobile phone. The dual mode transmitter/receiver allows short-range and low-power communication between similarly equipped phones. In the two-way radio mode, the dual mode mobile phone transmits and receives at a frequency between the normal mobile transmit and receive frequency bands so that a number of transmitter/receiver components are utilized for both normal and two-way radio communication.

Abstract: In a communications system including a plurality of base stations, each of which is employed to communicate with a corresponding geographic sector, a method of assigning N transmission channels, each channel having a corresponding channel number, to be used by the plurality of base stations. In the method, a set of N random numbers is generated. Each random number corresponds to a channel number. The set of random numbers is partitioned into a plurality of sectors, each of the sectors corresponding to a geographic region serviced by one of the plurality of base stations. Based upon the partitioned set of random numbers, corresponding channels are assigned for use by each one of the base stations. According to one embodiment, two channel numbers in the same sector are separated into different sectors if the difference between the two channels numbers is equal to or less than a predetermined number. When the predetermined number is one, two consecutive channel numbers are separated.
