    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new communication system supplying a multi-channel broadcast digital service to each user by a broadcast video signal superposed on a speech band higher than a digital base band 155 Mbps signal. SOLUTION: An electric output obtained by combining a base band signal from a base band source 27 and a signal from a speech band source 28 by a system generating no overlapping of frequency in both of them by a diplexer 29 is convert-formed to be an optical signal by a laser transmitter 31 e.g. to send to an optical output splitter 33 through an optical transmission fiber 32. The splitter divides the sent signal into plural optical signals each similar with respect to the spectrum and sends them to each optical receiver 35 of an end user through a fiber 35. The optical receiver detects both of the base band signal impressed to incoming light and a speech band signal and demodulates them. Thus, a desired service is provided to a user by one transmitter, a single fiber path and one receiver.
