Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cushioning tube and a fiber optical cable made from a polyamide/polyolefin blend. SOLUTION: The polyamide/polyolefin blend consists of a blend of nylon 6 and polyethylene. The fiber optical cable is composed of at least one cushioning tube and at least one transmission medium placed in the cushioning tube. The cushioning tube is produced from the polyamide/polyolefin blend and the polyamide/polyolefin blend consists of the blend of nylon 6 and polyethylene. The blend of nylon 6 and polyethylene is composed of approximately 50 to 90% of nylon and approximately 10 to 50% of polyethylene.

Moore preferably. The buffer tube is made from the terpolymer aliphatic polyketone. More specifically, the 'Carilon (R)' is used for the aliphatic polyketone.
