Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unnecessitate the housing of an inductor, and to sharply cut down the cost of the inductor, by forming a conductive wiring on the surface of a ferrite core. SOLUTION: A ferrite inductor 100 is mounted on the surface of a PC substrate 150. The ferrite inductor 100 contains a conductive ferrite core, and it is formed in a hollow tetragonal or square shape. An inductor winding is accomplished by forming a conductive path on the ferrite inductor 100 or by directly forming strip lines 102 on all surfaces of a square ring 101. A multiwound winding is formed on all the strip lines 102. Four metal conductive passages 103 are buried in a part of the square ring 101. Mounting pads 153 and 154 are connected when the ferrite inductor 100 is mounted on the PC substrate 150. The mounting pads 153 and 154 are arranged on the square ring 101.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the manufacturing speed and yield of a device provided with a metallized magnetic substrate when the device is manufactured from one multilayered substrate, by making the device manufacturable by only performing one time of punching step against each green tape layer by using via holes which can be brought into contact with two facing windings. SOLUTION: Via holes 12 and 13 are individually punched through each layer at the same locations. The first punched via holes 12 and 13 can be brought into contact with two facing windings. A substrate 10 of a incombustible magnetic material is formed by laminating the layers, in such a way that the via holes 12 and 13 of the layers are respectively aligned with each other. Then the top and bottom faces of the substrate 10 are coated with a second conductive material 16 without expanding the dimensions of the via holes 12 and 13 by not performing, for example, any additional punching step for forming via holes to be connected to the via holes 12 and 13, and conductive windings are formed by connecting the side-wall coatings of the adjacent via holes 12 and 13. Finally, the substrate 10 is burnt and electroplated with an additional metal, such as copper, etc., as a conductive material.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce package cost to a minimum by providing a plurality of through conductors extending to a surface for a ferrite main body, connecting respective winding wires to the different pairs of through conductors and permitting the through holes to electrically and mechanically connect a transformer to a circuit board on the surface of the ferrite main body. SOLUTION: A rectangular '8'-form having a pair of slots 210 and 211 is formed on the ferrite main body (main body) 100, and a transformer core 204 is provided between the slots 210 and 211. A pair of vertical holes 208 and 209 exposed from surfaces 108 and 109 are provided for the main body 100, and the transformer core 204 is provided between the vertical holes. Winding wires 103 are stored in the vertical holes 208 and 209. The main body 100 is composed of main body parts 101 and 102. The winding wires 103 are wound to the transformer core 204 of one main body part and the main body parts are mutually joined. A pair of primary side winding wire posts 104 and at least a pair of secondary side winding wire posts 105-106 are provided for the main body 100.
