Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain perfect and detailed data on each WDM signal by a method wherein signals are processed by detectors that detect each at least signal of a certain wavelength linearly and processor chips provided integrally with the detectors. SOLUTION: For instance, by use of a free spatial optics, signal wavelengths of WDM signals inputted through one or more input fibers are dispersed or demultiplexed on detector/processor chips. The above signals are received through an input fiber array 301 composed of M fibers. An optical output from the fiber array 301 is collected on a planar diffraction grating 303 through a collimating lens 302. The planar diffraction grating 303 diffracts the optical signals and returns them to the collimating lens 302, and the optical signals are collected on an opto-electronic chip 304. The opto-electronic chip 304 comprises a two-dimensional array of detectors and detects light signals. Then, the signals are processed with processor chips provided integrally with the detectors.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver having interference removing ability for removing interference caused from various electronic generation sources by converting a received differential optical signal to a differential electric signal and processing this differential electric signal to remove electric interference signals excepting for the differential electric signal. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a differential electric circuit equipped with a common generation source load for detecting the received differential optical signal, converting it into the differential electric signal and processing the differential electric signal so as to remove the electric interference signals excepting for the differential optical signal. Complementary optical input signals are applied to detectors 201 and 202 and the differential electric signals generated as a result are respectively amplified by preamplifiers 203 and 204 and applied to an interference removing element 205. The preamplifiers 203 and 204 respectively convert an input current into voltage signals. A post amplifier 206 and a channel filter 207 are utilized as needed. Afterwards, the differential signal is digitized by a determination circuit 208 and a differential digital output can be provided.
