Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber transmitting link, with which channel destruction caused by stimulated Raman scattering is reduced. SOLUTION: An optical fiber transmitting link 20, with which the channel destruction caused by stimulated Raman scattering is reduced, is formed by providing a high-pass optical filter 22 inside a transmitting fiber. The filter is provided with one or plural other components sometimes and is formed as a filter 'distributed' along the length of the optical fiber as well. A cutoff frequency concerning the high-pass optical filter is selected just below the frequency of an input channel to be transmitted. When using the link inside configuration accompanied with a large number of input channels, the cutoff frequency is controlled to be just below the lowest input channel frequency.

When used in an arrangemen t with multiple input channels, the cut-off frequency is controlled to be immediate ly below the lowest input channel frequency.

The filter may comprise one or more discrete components, or may be formed as a "distributed" filter along the length of the fiber amplifier. The cut-off frequency for the high pass optical filter is selected to be immediately below the frequency o f the input signal to be amplified. When used in an arrangement with multiple input signals, the cut-off frequency is controlled to be immediately below the lowest input signal frequency.
