    Abstract: Un proceso para la produccion de propileno, que incluye: poner en contacto etileno y una corriente de hidrocarburo que comprende 1-buteno y 2-buteno con un catalizador para isomerizacion y metátesis bifuncional para - de manera concurrente - isomerizar 1-buteno a 2-buteno y para formar un producto de metátesis que comprende propileno; en donde el catalizador para isomerizacion y metátesis bifuncional comprende: un compuesto catalizador que comprende al menos un elemento seleccionado de tungsteno, tántalo, niobio, molibdeno, níquel, paladio, osmio, iridio, rodio, vanadio, rutenio y renio para proveer actividad de metátesis sobre un soporte que comprende al menos un elemento del Grupo IA, IIA, IIB y IIIA de la Tabla Periodica de los Elementos; en donde un área de superficie expuesta del soporte provee tanto actividad de isomerizacion para la isomerizacion de 1-buteno a 2-buteno, como sitios reactivos para la adsorcion de los toxicos de los compuestos catalizadores. En otras formas de realizacion, el compuesto catalizador puede incluir al menos un elemento seleccionado de aluminio, galio, iridio, hierro, molibdeno, níquel, niobio, osmio, paladio, fosforo, renio, rodio, rutenio, tántalo, titanio, tungsteno y vanadio.

En otras modalidades, el compuesto catalítico puede incluir por lo menos un elemento seleccionado de aluminio, galio, iridio, hierro, molibdeno, níquel, niobio, osmio, paladio, fósforo, renio, rodio, rutenio, tantalio, titanio, tungsteno y vanadio.
