Abstract: A method for stably introducing exogenous DNA into the germ line of a fish is described. A fish embryo is provided. A retroviral vector is introduced into a cell of the fish embryo, and the fish embryo is allowed to develop into a fish. Stable chromosomal insertions of the retroviral vector are screened for. Transgenic fish, cells and cell lines are also provided.
