Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower the manufacturing cost and improve work efficiency by decreasing the use amount of expensive xenon gas. CONSTITUTION:A stem to which an infrared ray detecting part is stuck and a cap are put together by electric welding in air. Then, after the stem and the cap are welded each other in air, the stem and the cap are welded in a transparent chamber 16 to give an infrared ray detecting element A and a large number of infrared ray detecting elements A are arranged vertically and transversely. The chamber 16 is once made vacuum (about 0.1 Torr) and then the inside of the chamber is made xenon gas atmosphere by introducing xenon into it. Laser light beams from a laser oscillator 17 are emitted from the outside of the chamber 16 toward the hole 12 which is previously pierced in a stem of an infrared ray detecting element A to melt the circumference of the hole 12 and close the hole 12. The laser oscillator 17 is shifted vertically and transversely to close the holes of all other stems of the infrared ray detecting elements A.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perfornm the heat separation between an infrared-ray detecting part and a substrate properly and simplify the structure for heat separation so as tomanufacture it easily by providing heat separating space below the infrared-ray detecting part arranged on the surface of the substrate, and supporting the infrared-ray detecting part by the substrate through a partial support. CONSTITUTION:When infrared-rays enter an infrared-ray detector A from above an infrared-ray filter 70, an electrode 50 absorbs the infrared-rays and generates heat and rises in temperature. The heat of the electrode 50 is transferred to a film resistor 40, and also the film resistor 40 itself absorbs the infrared-rays and rises in temperature. Since the film resistor 40 changes in resistance value by the temperature condition, the resistance value between a pair of electrodes 5Oa and 50b changes, and output signal accompanying it are output from wirings 52 and 52 to a signal processing circuit 20. The infrared-ray detector A connects with a substrate 10 only by a support 32, so the heat generated in the electrode 50 and the film resistor 40 does not flee to outside from other than the support 32, and since the heat resistance of the narrow support 32 is high, the infrared- ray detector A can be maintained in a good condition of heat separation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To securely detect whether or not there is a human body by arranging a detection area of nearly the same size with part of the human body to be detected and a nondetection area alternately and adjacently. CONSTITUTION:A polygonal divided mirror or multiple divided lens is used as an optical system 1 and infrared rays from detection areas X are converged. Then an infrared detecting element 2 is arranged on the focal plane of the optical system 1 to form the detection areas X on an object surface through the optical system 1. The detection areas X and nondetection areas Y are arranged alternately and adjacently. Here, if a part of the human body is in fine motion, the element 2 generates an output as variation in temperature difference with the background. The output of the element 2 is amplified by an amplification part 3 and a processing judgement part 4 decides whether or not the peak value of the element 2 amplified by the amplification part 3 exceeds a threshold value and outputs the decision result from an output part 5. Thus, whether or not there is the human body is securely detected.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an approximately even optical gain as a whole and to improve the detecting accuracy for the number of persons by forming a mirror which gives circular scanning to the viewfield of an infrared-ray detecting element with a 1st reflecting surface having a prescribed instantaneous viewfield and a 2nd reflecting surface which uses a part of said viewfield as its own instantaneous viewfield. CONSTITUTION:Infrared energy condensed by a circular scanning optical system 1 is received by an infrared-ray detecting element 2 and converted into an electric signals. These electric signals are amplified by a preamplifier part 3 and inputted to a band filer of a signal processing part 4. Thus the unstable low frequency component and the undesired high frequency component of the amplified signals are cut for improvement of a S/N. Then the output of said band filter undergoes A/D conversion and is outputted from an output part 6 via a microcomputer forming a deciding part 5. In such/constitution, a main mirror of the system 1 includes a concave reflecting surface in the direction of a line X-X' and another concave reflecting surface having continuous curvature changes in the direction orthogonal to the line X-X'. Then a desired instantaneous viewfield angle is obtained when the reflecting surface of the mirror M is rotated toward the light receiving surface of the element 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the counting accuracy for a device which detects the number of persons after detecting infrared rays radiated from the bodies of persons to be counted by using a material having a low radiation factor for a reflecting plate of said detecting device. CONSTITUTION:A detecting device for the number of persons consists of an infrared-ray detecting element 2, a circular scanning optical system 1 which gives circular scanning to the viewfield of the element 2, a preamplifier part 3 which amplifies the output of the element 2, a signal converting par 4 which converts the output signal of the part 3 into the signal required for detection of the number of persons, a deciding par 5 which decides the number of persons based on the output signal of the part 4, and an output part 6 which outputs information on the number of persons based on the output signal of the part 5. This detector is attached onto a wall surface W. In such constitution, a reflecting plate 17 is set on the surface of a circuit storing part 15 fixed to the surface W. The plate 17 uses a material that has metallic luster and a low radiation factor and also causes irregular reflection to the infrared rays. Thus the waviness of the signal wave due to temperature difference can be reduced within a viewfield. Therefore the gain of the part 3 is increased together with improved resolution.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy for detecting the number of persons by alternately scanning an instantaneous visual field near to the center of a rotation and an instantaneous visual field remote from the center of a rotation at every half rotation by a circular scanning optical system for scanning the visual field of an infrared ray detecting element. CONSTITUTION:The circular scanning optical system 1 rotates elongated instantaneous visual fields Fa0, Fb0 by making the longitudinal direction a radial direction, thereby, circularly scans the visual field of the infrared ray detecting element 2. Then, the optical system 1 alternately scans the instantaneous visual field Fa0 near to the center of the rotation and the instantaneous visual field Fb0 remote from the center of the rotation at every half rotation. The light receiving output of the detecting element 2 is A/D converted by a signal processing part 4 and inputted to a decision part 5. A synchronizing signal part 16 generates a pulse P7 as soon as the visual field Fa0 enters the range of a detection and a pulse P2 as soon as it starts therefrom and generates a pulse P3 as soon as the visual field Fb0 enters the range of the detection and a pulse P4 as soon as it starts therefrom. The pulses P1-P4 are inputted to the decision part 5, a semi-circular visual field is divided radially into two to improve resolution and the number of person detecting accuracy.
