Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic water making apparatus having function capable of stably measuring the quality of water even under a continuous water passing condition large in the quantity of water over a long time. SOLUTION: In this electrolytic water making apparatus constituted so that water is electrolyzed by applying voltage across the electrodes within an electrolytic cell not only to form alkaline water in one electrode chamber but also to form acidic water in anther electrode chamber and alkaline water and acidic water are allowed to separately flow out of the outflow ports respectively formed to the respective electrode chambers, an electrochemical water quality measuring device 11 for measuring the quality of formed electrolytic water is set on the downstream side of the electrolytic cell. This electrochemical water quality measuring device 11 is constituted of the detection electrode 20 arranged to a water inspecting chamber 18 through which water to be inspected passes, the internal electrode 16 arranged in an internal soln. chamber 14 having an internal soln. 15 sealed therein and the porous liquid communication part 17 for ensuring the water permeability between both chambers 18, 14. The internal soln. chamber 14, and a wter channel through which water to be inspected flows or a water channel through which raw water flows are allowed to communicate with each other by a communication passage 40.

A buffer layer 47 with a height for covering a mounting part 46 with a potting agent with an insulation resistance of at least 1×10 Ω and a hardness of at most 60 degree is provided on the surface of a printed base sheet 45 and an insulating layer 48 based on a potting agent with an insulating resistance of at least 1×10 Ω provided to form the amplifier part 14.

The electromotive force of the electrochemical water quality measuring apparatus 20 to the amplifying part 14 is made to be applied at the time of starting water supply. At the time when water supply is stopped, the electromotive force is prevented from being applied to the amplifying part 14, so that the amplifying part 14 is prevented from being loaded with high overload.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method and device for restoring a changed electrode potential of a pH measuring electrode using metal oxide or metal for sensitive film to an original potential condition in a short time. CONSTITUTION:Electrode potential-changed pH measuring electrodes 1-4 using iridium oxide for pH-sensitive film are electrically shortcircuitted by electrically connecting their leads 1a-4a to each other, and they are immersed in neutral phosphate solution 5 of pH 6.86 for about an hour. The pH-measuring electrodes of which electrode potential is changed can be restored almost to an original potential condition in a short time to be stabilized, so a very good efficiency is achieved, and because they can be restored to the potential condition where calibration can be performed sufficiently to be stabilized, thereby they can be reused without being wasted and disposed as defectives.

The generation of the foam by the handling or transportation after the completion of the electrode is obviated by an non-fluidization of the internal liquid; therefore, the generation of a defective connection and fault in the wetting part and liquid junction part of the internal electrode is prevented.
