    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the solubility of C5F12 in a raw material mixture for a polyurethane and to prepare the title material excellent in physical properties by mixing an org. polyisocyanate, a polyol, a catalyst, a fluorocarbon surfactant, and C5F12 and foaming the mixture. CONSTITUTION:An org. polyisocyanate, a polyol, a catalyst, a fluorocarbon surfactant, and a fluorocarbon blowing agent comprising C5F12 are mixed and the mixture is foamed to give the title material. The surfactant improves the solubility in the polyol of C5F12 which is lowly polar and otherwise has a poor solubility in the polyol, enables a fine and homogeneous cell structure to be formed through a homogeneous foaming behavior, and gives the title material having excellent physical properties such as a low thermal conductivity and high foam strengths. The improvement is remarkable esp. when an arom. amine polyether polyol is used as the polyol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-insulated box excellent in heat-insulating performance for a long term by a method wherein the heat-insulated box consists of an outer box, a hard urethane foam with use of fluorocarbon as a foaming agent and an inner box which is molded of particular high nitrile ABS resin composition. CONSTITUTION:A heat-insulated box 6 consists of an outer box 2, an urethane foam 4 with use of fluorocarbon C5F12 as a foaming agent and an inner box 5 which is molded of high nitrile ABS resin composition that is obtained by polymerizing monomer mixture of 52 - 58 wt.% of vinyl cyanide compound and 42 - 48 wt.% of aromatic vinyl compound in the presence of 13 - 15 pts. wt. conjugated diene type synthetic rubber. Although C5F12 contained in hard urethane foam diffuses easily and resin has a high permeability to this gas, an excellent heat-insulating performance can be maintained for a long term with less air permeation because high nitrile ABS resin composition, having a dense molecular structure and little gas-permeability, is used as material of the inner box. In addition, high nitrile ABS resin composition is excellent in moldability in vacuum molding, appearance and quality as material of the inner box, so that the heat-insulated box excellent in heat-insulating performance for a long term can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the title material which is excellent in adhesive properties, strengths, and thermal insulating properties and hardly undergoes foam shrinkage even outdoors at a low temp. without causing any pollution problem by mixing a specific hydroxy component, a specific blowing agent, a catalyst, a foam stabilizer, and an org. isocyanate and foaming the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A hydroxyl component obtd. by compounding a benzylic ether- type liq. phenol resin compsn. (e.g. a phenol polyol) with 5-30% active hydrogen compd. other than an amine (e.g. trimethylolpropane), a catalyst (e.g. N- methylmorpholine), a foam stabilizer (e.g. F-338, a product of Shin-Estu Chemical Co., Ltd.), an org. polyisocyanate (e.g. a crude MDI, a product of Mitsui-Nisso Urethane Co., Ltd.), and a blowing agent comprising 1,1-dichloro-2,2,2- trifluoroethane or 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane are mixed and foamed.
