    Abstract: A compressor includes a sealed casing (2) which accommodates therein a compressing unit (6) for compressing a refrigerant and a driving unit (7) for driving the compressing unit. An induction pipe (18) is provided in the sealed casing for introducing the refrigerant into the compressing unit. The induction pipe has an outlet end communicating with the interior of the compressing unit and an inlet end which is opened to space in the sealed casing at a position which may correspond to a node of a standing wave of the refrigerant in the sealed casing.

CONSTITUTION:A closed-type compressor is composed of a closed container 2, an electrically driven compression element 8 housed in the closed container 2, and composed of a compression element 6 and an electrically-driven element 7, a lubricating oil sump 19 provided on the compression element 6 and a suction pipe 18 whose one end is communicated with the compression element 6 while the other end is opened near the lubricating oil sump 19.
