    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve durability of a winding member and reduce noises by reducing tensile strength fluctuation of a tensioned part of the winding member wound between a timing pulley and a cam pulley for suppressing fluctuation of angle speed of a cam shaft, and preventing generation of secondary mode vibrations of the winding member. CONSTITUTION:A rotary member D such as an eccentric pulley provided with teeth to be engaged with teeth of a winding member C is engaged with the winding member C from inside its circle, at a position distanced from a cam pulley B or a timing pulley A by a one-fourth length of the length La of a tensioned part Ca in the winding member C provided with teeth, which member C is wound between the timing pulley A and the cam pulley B in a form of circle. The tensioned part Ca of the winding member C is periodically brought under push-press in synchronization with the rotation of a crank shaft and in accordance with a loosened timing of the tensioned part Ca.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce vibration noise with no reduction in output which is needless by controlling combustion conditions based on vibration control conditions which are set for cylinders at the both ends of an engine respectively on the basis of resonance frequencies and vibration characteristics at the respective end sections of a crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a 4 cylinder engine, vibration control conditions are set in advance for a first cylinder 2a at the front end side of the engine and a fourth cylinder 2d at the rear end side of the engine based on resonance frequencies and engine vibration characteristics at the respective end sections of a crank shaft 4, and the vibration control conditions are stored in a control unit 11. And the combustion conditions of the first and the fourth cylinder 2a and 2d are controlled based on the aforesaid vibration control conditions by the control unit 11, for example, by an ignition timing control. As vibration control conditions, a vibration control area which has to be controlled for the restraint of vibration, is set up based on resonance frequencies and engine vibration characteristics, and controlled variables in the vibration control area (the quantity of retard at ignition timing) are set up in response to engine loading and the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce noises in a vehicle by exerting a damping effect on the torsional vibration and face swing vibration of a rotor such as a crank pulley. CONSTITUTION:A bottomed cylindrical hub member 2 is provided rotatively integrally with a shaft, and a sleeve member 3 having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of a crank pulley 1 is freely coupled on the outer periphery of the hub member 2. A rubber 4 is provided between the sleeve member 3 and the crank pulley 1, and the torsional vibration of the crank pulley 1 is damped by the rubber 4. Circular plate springs 5 connected to the hub member 2 and the sleeve member 3 in turn at nearly a uniform interval in the peripheral direction are arranged at one end side of them, and the face swing vibration of the crank pulley 1 is suppressed by the plate springs 5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent misfire by increasing exhaust gas pressure at an exhaust gas lead-in port only during high speed rotation in low load region. CONSTITUTION:A pressure wave supercharger 3 comprises a rotor 9 supported rotatably in a case with many barrier walls 12 forming many cells 11 being arranged radially, intake air lead-in port 14 and delivery port 15 formed through an air casing 13 at one end of the rotor 9 and discharge gas lead-in port 17 and delivery port 18 formed through a gas casing 16 at the other end of the rotor 9. When the rotor 9 rotates, pressure wave energy of exhaust gas is transmitted to intake air thus supercharging the intake air. Means for increasing exhaust gas pressure at the exhaust gas lead-in port 17 and means for operating the pressure increase means only during high speed rotation in low load region are further provided. Since exhaust gas temperature at the exhaust gas lead-in port 17 is increased, pressure wave propagation speed increases to increase exhaust gas energy in the cell 11 thus promoting discharge of exhaust gas from the cell 11 and lead-in of fresh air into the cell 11.

CONSTITUTION:A surge tank 6 is installed onto the upstream side of an intake passage 5. A plurality of extension passages 7, 8 opened into the surge tank 6 are formed. An opening/closing valve 10 for cutting off the extension passages 7, 8 are installed to close the extension passage 8 in the low revolution region. Therefore, a strong swirl is generated by the curving at a sharp angle at the leftward turn of an intake port 2, and the swirl in the low revolution region can be strengthened.

While a control condition is established at engine start in which engine rotation is less than switch rotation speed, a switch valve 26 is controlled so as to open the oil chamber 60 to the outside via a drain passage 38, a second control passage 36 and third control passage 44.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce NOx and improve output by increasing the quantity of lead angle in a medium speed zone as well as the change in lead angle in a high speed zone at a warm time, whereas, at a cold time, correcting the quantity of lead angle in a low speed zone toward the advancing direction while making the number of revolutions for increasing a lead angle to the high speed zone smaller than at the warm time. CONSTITUTION:When flyweights 7, 8 are moved in the separating direction from each other, first cams 9, 10 are rotated in the direction in which first pin holes 11a, 12a are separated from each other. At the same time, second cams 13, 14 are rotated so that the distance between second pins 15, 16 is not varied. And, the relative angle positions of first pins 11, 12 are changed with respect to the second pins 15, 16 respectively centering around an output shaft 5. Thereby, the phase difference between a flange 6 as an input part and the output shaft 5 is varied changing fuel injection timing. In this case, i.e., during a cold time, the spring force of a spring 35 is larger than the spring force of timer springs 22, 23 while the centrifugal force generated in flyweights 7, 8 is small, thereby, making the quantity of lead angle constant.
