Abstract: A printing system that has a printhead assembly having a staggered array of printheads that overlap each other to collectively span a media path, a drive roller for feeding media along a media path and a vacuum platen assembly comprising a fixed vacuum platen and a plurality of movable modules embedded in the fixed vacuum platen, each module having a vacuum platen configured for alignment with a corresponding one of the array of printheads, wherein the fixed vacuum platen is positioned adjacent a section of the media path defining a print zone.

Abstract: Un sistema de impresión que comprende: un ensamblaje de cabeza de impresión (42, 44, 46, 48, 50) que define una zona de impresión (14), el ensamblaje de cabeza de impresión incluye una gama escalonada de cabezas de impresión que se superponen entre sí para abarcar conjuntamente un recorrido de medios sin espacios entre sí, un rodillo de accionamiento (16) posicionado corriente arriba de la zona de impresión para alimentar los medios a lo largo del recorrido de medios; y un ensamblaje de plato de vacío posicionado opuesto al ensamblaje de cabeza de impresión, comprendiendo el ensamblaje de plato de vacío un plato de vacío fijo (26) y una pluralidad de carruseles de servicio (22) incrustados en el plato de vacío fijo, en el que: cada carrusel de vacío (22) comprende un plato de vacío configurado para la alineación con una de las cabezas de impresión correspondiente; y cada carrusel de servicio (22) se configura para cruzar el recorrido de medios para acoplarse a su cabeza de impresión correspondiente durante una operación de tapado o limpieza.
