Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for automatically forwarding telephone calls to a telephone number based on presence information of computing devices associated with the telephone number. SOLUTION: A call forwarding system forwards telephone calls on the basis of presence information as reported by computing devices associated with a telephone number. When a telephone system receives an incoming call directed to one of the telephone numbers of the user's computing devices, it sends an incoming call event to each computing device. Upon receiving the incoming call event from a telephone system, each computing device determines whether the user is most likely present at the computing device based on the presence information. When a computing device determines that the user is most likely present at the computing device, it sends a notification to the telephone system to forward the incoming call to the telephone number associated with that computing device. SOLUTION: A notification system allows a user to specify those contacts of interest for whom the user wants to be notified when the contact enters a certain presence state. When presence information is received about a contact, the notification system determines whether the contact is a contact of interest as specified by the user. If so, then, the notification system determines whether the presence information indicates a change in presence state that is of interest to the user. SOLUTION: In this system, provided information are either automatically judged or designated by users; the provided information are pursued or supervised automatically through at least one conventional communication interface which accesses one or a plurality of conventional communication sources after the information are judged or designated; the present information are provided automatically and dynamically in an interactive peripheral display; and by this method it becomes the minimum that the users' minds are distracted potentially; the judgement or the designation, the pursuit or the supervision of the information and the providing of the information provide the peripheral awareness of the information to the user when they and the viewer are made pairs; and this is attained using ticket which is at least one object which can be customized and which is capsuled dynamically.

Electronic mail messages may be collaboratively ranked and filtered. User actions on an electronic mail message received from a sender by one or more recipients may be monitored. Statistics may be generated based on the user actions. The generated statistics may be utilized to provide a quality ranking of the electronic mail message based on the generated statistics.
