Abstract:
The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or method that constructs a real time interactive online social shopping network. The disclosed system can include a component that receives and transmits data from a client device and a merchant device, wherein the component employs the received and transmitted data to persist and associate information related to a user of the client device for display on the merchant device and utilizes the received and transmitted data to persist and associate information related to a retailer utilizing the merchant device for display on the client device.
Abstract:
A context based search and document retrieval application is disclosed. The application uses context data that is generated by a document analysis component based upon context information from various sources, including for example, document collections available on the world wide web. The context data is provided to a search query generator. The search query generator is configured to generate a contextually annotated search query based upon a user query and context data. Bookmarks having an associated context are generated for documents retrieved in response to the contextually annotated search query. The application then provides access to the bookmarked documents when the user is browsing other documents with similar contexts to the context of the original document for which the context based search was executed and the bookmark created. The bookmarked documents are hyperlinked to terms in the browsed document.
Abstract:
A system that can analyze a multi-dimensional input thereafter establishing a search query based upon extracted features from the input. In a particular example, an image can be used as an input to a search mechanism. Pattern recognition and image analysis can be applied to the image thereafter establishing a search query that corresponds to features extracted from the image input. The system can also facilitate indexing multi-dimensional searchable items thereby making them available to be retrieved as results to a search query. More particularly, the system can employ text analysis, pattern and/or speech recognition mechanisms to extract features from searchable items. These extracted features can be employed to index the searchable items.
Abstract:
A system for searching for information is disclosed. The system comprises a search module that obtains a set of results that is responsive to a query. The system also includes a biasing module that ranks members of the set of results based at least in part upon a member of a set of information derived from prior information-gathering tasks. Methods for using such system are also provided.
Abstract:
Systems and methods that estimate user preference, via automatic interpretation of user behavior. A user behavior component associated with a search engine can automatically interpret collective behavior of users (e.g., web search users). Such feedback component can include user behavior features and predictive models (e.g., from a user behavior component) that are robust to noise, which can be present in observed user interactions with the search results (e.g., malicious and/or irrational user activity.).
Abstract:
Location-based technologies (e.g., global position system (GPS)) can be employed to facilitate providing multi-modal, multi-lingual location-based services. Identification of location can provide significant context as to identifying user state and intentions. Thus, location identification can facilitate providing/augmenting data and services (e.g., location-aware based suggestions, truncating contact lists based upon location, location-based reminders as a user approaches a predetermined location, truncating pre-loaded tasks, suggesting routes to accomplish pre-loaded tasks in a PIM). Still other aspects can augment GPS location identification with a compass, accelerometer, azimuth control, cellular triangulation, SPOT services of telephone, etc. Effectively, these alternative aspects can facilitate determination of a target location by detecting movement and direction of a user and/or portable device.
