Abstract: The present invention relates to data communications networks more particularly system and method for detecting and recovering backhaul network disconnection in an access point. One of the advantages of the present invention provides system and method for detecting and recovering backhaul network disconnection in an access point. Another advantage of the present invention is that corrective action when the backhaul network is down and providing reports on backhaul network disconnection to a network administrator. The present invention further actively sends messages to determine the link status when connectivity is not detected.
