Abstract: The present invention relates to a power-saving system and a method for measuring rotational speed of a rotating device (100) during a periodic measurement window. The system comprises: a magnetic sensor (200); a magnetic target (300); and a measurement processing device (400) comprising: a pulse edge detector (410) for distributing pulse signals; a multi-pulse processor (420) that is activated when receiving a complete pulse signal having a pulse period in one periodic measurement window; a single-pulse processor (430) that is activated when receiving the pulse signal of two consecutive pulse edges in one periodic measurement window; and a measurement scheduler (450) for adjusting the arrival of the next periodic measurement window. For the two consecutive pulse edges, the pulse period is obtained by using a pulse duty cycle of the complete pulse signal. Drawing accompanying abstract: Figure 1.
