Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an image reading device which can stably and accurately read even the image of an original consisting primarily of neutral tints with reduced fluctuation. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 81 reduces the level of the light irradiated from a light source 4 to irradiate a reference white color part and then receives the light reflected at the white color part by a photoelectric transducer of an image sensor 7. Meanwhile a shading corrector circuit 83 calculates the shading correction coefficient of each photoelectric transducer based on the fluctuation of output signals of those photoelectric transducers and stores these calculated coefficients in a RAM 84. Then the circuit 83 multiplies the signal outputted from each photoelectric transducer by the shading correction coefficient to perform the shading correction when an original is actually scanned. The corrected signal is inputted to an image processing part 85.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To execute smoothly the shifting action of a developer with a motor and to prevent the dispersing of developing solution from the developer to foul a copying machine by providing a gear geared at the same time with racks provided oppositely to each other to two sliding stands. CONSTITUTION:Since developers 1a and 1b are shifted by a stepping motor 6, by suppressing the motor input current at the time of starting and stopping, the action can be smoothly executed, and the dispersion of a carrier and a toner stuck to a developing roller 11, etc., is prevented by the vibration and the shock at the time of the action of the developers 1a and 1b. The rotation angle of the stepping motor 6 is set to the number of current pulses being inputted. Consequently, the control of the interval between the developers 1a and 1b and the photosensitive body drum is very easily executed. Further, since the stepping motor 6 is energized only at the time of shifting the developers 1a and 1b and not energized at the time of stopping like an electromagnet, the using ratio is small the small capacity is sufficient.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain picture edit with respect to a large sized original without use of a large sized edit sheet. CONSTITUTION:An image forming control section 71 of a control section 7 controls operation of each section of an image forming section 4. Furthermore, an edit processing section 72 controls the picture edit for an edit content selected by a mode key 31 and a function key 32 over an area designated by a ten-key 33 and a display section 34. Furthermore, when the original size is larger than the edit sheet size, the original is once reduced into the size of the edit sheet and the reduced original is copied to generate a secondary original, and the second original is inserted between the edit sheets to designate the coordinate. Then the designated coordinate on the reduced copy is converted into the coordinate of the original of the original size to execute the edit. A ROM 732 of a storage section 73 stores a coordinate conversion table to convert the designated coordinate of the copied original with reduction into the coordinate of the original of the original size.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the non-coincidence of sizes between an original and a copy by providing an original size detection means and a means for selecting one which is of larger size. CONSTITUTION:The original is set between a glass 4 and the transparent body 7 of a cover 6. The black part 9A of a moving member 9 stops in a state where it is opposed to the original 5 and an optical system 10 performs scanning. Outputted light is formed into an image on a CCD 12 and the image is processed, then the size detection means 14 detects the size of a white ground 9B surrounded by a black frame 2 as an original size, which is stored in a memory 15. Next, the white part 9B is opposed to the original and the black ground surrounded by a white frame 2' is detected. After detecting the size twice, a comparator 16 reads out and compares the size from the memory 15 so set the larger one as the original size. Then, by performing copying in a state where the white ground 9B is opposed to the original, only an image within the original size which is selected by the comparator 16 is copied on a paper. By such constitution, the accurate original size is obtained even in the originals provided with the black ground and the white frame and with the white ground and the black frame.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of a color picture input device by providing a picture element sensor sliding means to move a picture element sensor (n) times for every 1/n pitches of a picture element pitch in a main scanning direction, and a picture element sensor scanning means to read and scan the picture element sensor each time it is moved. CONSTITUTION:When a color picture input device 1 reads and scans a certain scanning area S of an original 15, an image sensor array 2 at the first position executes first reading and scanning in the main scanning direction (an arrow M). Next, a motor is rotationally driven by a command from an input control part 5 and the image sensor array 2 is moved for the 1/3 pitch of the arranging pitch of a color sensor 3 in the main scanning direction and arrives at a position shown by a code 2a in a figure. Then, the second reading and scanning is executed. Thus, three picture outputs, which are shifted by the 1/3 pitch to the arranging pitch of the color sensor 3, are synthesized to one picture output by a picture processing part 16.

CONSTITUTION:An inspection pattern 4 is provided at a position facing the detecting surface of a CCD 7 out of the loading area of the original on a platen 1 and stripe patterns 8 composed of black and white patterns corresponding to a pitch S of the CCD 7 are arranged while being inclined at a prescribed angle to the moving direction of a picture reading means 3. A correcting mechanism 5 moves the CCD 7, which can be moved relatively to the original 2, back and forth in the focus direction vertical to the surface of the original 2 and stops the CCD 7 at a position where an output signal from the CCD 7 stopped by a moving means 5 so as to obtain the maximum output signal from the CCD 7 can be made maximum. Then, the focusing is executed.
