Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for recovering 2-chloropropionic acid so that this compound can be separated in a high-purity form. According to the method, crude 2-chloropropionic acid is heat-treated in the presence of a metal compound at a temperature in the range of 130-180 DEG C where dichloro derivatives are contained as impurities or at a temperature not exceeding 160 DEG C where no dichloro derivatives are contained. The metal compound is then removed at 160 DEG C or lower. Final purification is thereafter conducted to obtain 2-chloropropionic acid as a high-purity product.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover high-purity 2-chloropropionic acid by separating and purifying crude 2-chloropropionic acid. CONSTITUTION:When crude 2-chloropropionic acid contains a dichloro isomer as an impurity, the crude 2-chloropropionic acid is preheated at 130-180 deg.C in the presence of a metal compound and when does not contain the dichloro isomer, the crude 2-chloropropionic acid is previously concentrated or coarsely purified at

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled crystals, economically by cooling an aqueous solution of acrylamide in a double-pipe or multitubular heat exchanger, in which the aqueous solution is passed through the inside of cooling pipes, made of stainless steel and electropolished and a refrigerant liquid is passed through the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of acrylamide is cooled in a double-pipe or multitubular heat exchanger, in which the aqueous solution of acrylamide is passed through the inside of cooling pipes made of stainless steel and a refrigerant liquid is passed through the outside thereof, to crystallize the acrylamide. In the process, the cooling pipes are characterized in that the inside thereof is electropolished. The liquid flow velocity at the cooling heat transfer surface must be increased to carry out the cooling and crystallizing of a substance readily causing scale deposition, e.g. acrylamide. A multitubular heat exchange capable of increasing the heat transfer area is particularly preferred for the type of the cooler. The effect of the electropolishing seems to produce good results on a scaling phenomenon of acrylamide crystals by the change in surface conditions of the metal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To purifying the titled compound synthesized from acetone and phenol as raw materials, to recover unreacted acetone with small energy consumption, by feeding a mixture containing separated unreacted raw materials to a phenol process of cumene process. CONSTITUTION:Acetone is reacted with phenol in the presence of an insoluble acidic catalyst to give a reaction product, which is distilled D1 to give a column bottom solution comprising bisphenol A and phenol as main components and a column top distillate solution comprising unreacted acetone, water and accompanied phenol and the column bottom solution 5 is sent to a bisphenol A purifying process to give high-purity bisphenol A. The column top solution 4 is fed to a neutralization process N following a cumene hydroperoxide acid decomposition process A of phenol process of cumene process and/or a previous process of a liquid-liquid separation B2 of a washing process W and the unreacted acetone is recovered according to the phenol process of cumene process.
