    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge card connector for a printed circuit board having a terminal constitution increasing density of a terminal by forming a tail of the terminal cross in two rows. SOLUTION: A long narrow insulating housing 22 of an edge card connector 20 receiving an edge of a printed circuit board having a contact pad has a board receiving surface 22b, long narrow slot 24 receiving the edge of the printed circuit board, and terminal receiving cavities 38a, 38b. In the terminal receiving cavity, terminals 58a, 58b are received. Both the terminals include tails 64, 74, contact parts 66b, 76e and elastic spring arms 66, 76 having a holding part. Hollows 46, 52 formed in a traversing wall 40 are formed in arrangement and size receiving protrusions 68 and 78 protruded from the terminal received in the cavity, the size is formed sufficiently for the spring arm of the terminal in a region of the protrusion so as to be capable of freely moving relating to the housing.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single long narrow strip having a terminal of two forms alternately with a narrow spacing. SOLUTION: A long narrow strip 81 of an electric terminal 58a, 58b inserted to a terminal receiving cavity in a housing of a connector is connected by an intermediate carrier strip 82. In these terminals, a base part 60, 70 having a holding part 62, 72 inserted in the terminal receiving cavity is provided, a spring arm 66, 76 having a contact part is extended from an end of the base part 60, 70, from an opposite end of the base part, a tail 64, 74 is extended. In the intermediate carrier strip 82, alternate first/second terminals are connected in the base part 60 of the first terminal 58a and the spring arm 76 of the second terminal 58b, in a second carrier strip 84, a tip end of the tail 64 of only the second terminal 58b is connected, the second terminal 58b can be molded, regardless of the first terminal 58a.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase density of a terminal by forming a tip end of a tail of all the terminals flush as the same plane, and making the tail of the terminal cross in two rows. SOLUTION: An edge card connector 20 is provided with a long narrow insulating housing 22 having a board receiving surface 22b receiving an edge of a printed circuit board having a contact pad in the vicinity of an edge in both surfaces. Along a lengthwise direction axis of the housing, a long narrow slot 24 is arranged in a board receiving surface, in both sides thereof, a plurality of pairs of terminal receiving cavities 38a, 38b separated in a lateral direction are partitioned in a lengthwise direction of the housing. A pair of the cavities are separated by a traversing wall 40 vertically extended in the lengthwise direction axis of the housing. The cavity receives a plurality of first/second terminals 58a, 58b. Both the terminals are a pair for engagement with the contact pad in both surfaces of the printed circuit board. Each pair of the terminals is arranged in each of the cavity separated in the lateral direction.

A plurality of pairs of transversely spaced terminal-receiving cavities are disposed on opposite sides of the slot defining two rows of cavities lengthwise of the housing. The pairs of transversely spaced cavities are separated by transverse walls extending generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the housing. A plurality of terminals are received in the transversely spaced cavities. The terminals are in pairs for engaging the contact pads on opposite sides of the printed circuit board. One terminal in each pair is disposed in a respective one of the transversely spaced cavities.

    Abstract: An elongate strip of electrical terminals adapted to be inserted into a row of terminal-receiving passages in connector housing is disclosed. The strip includes a series of terminals joined by a mid-carrier strip and includes alternating first and second terminals. The terminals have base portions with retention sections adapted to be inserted into the terminal-receiving passages. Spring arms having contact portions extend from first ends of the base portions. Tail portions extend from second, opposite ends of the base portions. The mid-carrier Strip joins the alternating first and second terminals at the base portions of the first terminals and at the spring arm of the second terminals. A second carrier strip joins the tips of the tail portions of only the first terminals so that the adjacent ends of the second terminals can be formed independent of the first terminals.
