Abstract: Dyes of formula (i): (where X is a single C-C bond or a methylene gp. and the carboxylic chain X-COOH is in the m- or p- pos. with respect to the anthraquinonylamino gp.) which are only very slightly sol. in water and do not contain sulphonic radicals, are used to dye irregular polyamide fibres uniform blue shades. The blue colours obtained are more intense than those obtained with known dispense dyes, and compared with known dyes e.g. Acid Blue 40 C.I. 62125 and Disperse Blue 3 C.I. 61505, (I) have improved fastness props. esp. to wetting.
