Abstract: A molding with cutoff performance used as a cutoff plate of synthetic resin and the like which is to be placed at joints of a concrete structure is formed by extrusion-molding a stock material comprising a thermoplastic resin as the matrix, a particulate substance which does not melt at the melting point of said matrix such as crosslinked polyethylene resin or inorganic particles such as sand, and a surfactant using a means for heating and for extrusion molding at the melting point of the matrix resin to provide an embossed surface on both faces of the molding by utilizing the difference in flowability between the matrix and the non-melting particulate substance. Further, a hydrophilic layer of said surfactant is formed on the embossed surfaces, so that concrete would adhere to the embossed surface and become well bonded thereto because of the hydrophilic property of the layer, improving engagement of concrete with the cutoff plate as the cement milk is firmly engaged into the dents of the embossed surface.

Abstract: Provided is a surface modification process in which the mixture molar ratio of air/hydrocarbon gas in a fuel gas including a reforming agentmodifying compound containing a silane moleculesilicon atom, titanium atom or aluminum atom, air and a hydrocarbon gas is set to a value invalu within a predetermined range, whereby a predetermined surface modification effect can be stably obtained for a solid material, regardless of differences of boiling points of reforming agentmodifying compounds, environmental conditions of the surroundings, and the like. For this end, a flame produced fromof the fuel gas, in which the mixture molar ratio of air/hydrocarbon gas is adjusted to 23 or more, together with a predetermined reforming agentmodifying compound, is blown againsttoward the surface of a solid material by means of a surface modification apparatus.

Abstract: A method for modifying the surface of a solid material and a surface-modified solid material are provided, where an excellent adhesion strength between the surface of the solid material and any of coating films made of various UV-curing resins or the like can be obtained. In other words, it is attained by carrying out a silicatizing flame treatment on the surface of the solid material by wholly or partially blowing a flame of a fuel gas containing a specific silicon-containing compound having a flash point of 0 to 100°C and a boiling point of 105 to 250°C, such as hexamethyldisilazane, vinyltrimethoxysilane, trifuloropropyl trimethoxysilane, 3-chloropropyl trimethoxysilane.
