Abstract: An audio power amplifier comprising a transistor operated as an emitter follower which is quiescently biased so that the DC current through the output speaker is small. A feedback circuit connected between the output and the control electrode of the transistor compares the magnitude of the output peak voltage with the magnitude of the bias potential on the control electrode. When the peak output voltage exceeds the magnitude of the bias potential the feedback circuit increases the control bias potential to raise the operating point of the transistor. Where the magnitude of the peak voltage of the output does not exceed the magnitude of the bias potential, there is no feedback and the bias potential is maintained to keep the transistor at its quiescent operating point.

Abstract: A single volume control for a plurality of audio channels is formed by a pair of gain controllable differential amplifiers operated as small-signal amplifiers in an open-ended configuration. The current source for each differential amplifier is provided by a variable current source, such as a transistor collector. By altering the DC bias on this variable current source transistor, the bias current and therefore the gain of the differential amplifier is correspondingly varied. A single potentiometer provides the DC voltage control for the variable current source transistors which, in turn, function as a volume control for the circuit.

Abstract: A single volume control for a plurality of audio channels is formed by a pair of gain controllable differential amplifiers operated as small-signal amplifiers in an open-ended configuration. Abstract: An amplifier circuit is disclosed for temperature compensating the output voltage thereof with respect to undesirable temperature induced signals from a silicon pressure transducer and/or from components of the amplifier itself. The amplifier includes a first operational amplifier and a second operational amplifier. A first circuit connects the output terminal of the first operational amplifier through a summing node to one input terminal of the second amplifier. Output signals from the pressure transducer are applied between one input terminal of the first operational amplifier and another input terminal of the second amplifier. A temperature compensating circuit is connected to the summing node for enabling the output voltage of the amplifier to be substantially independent of temperature. An initial offset voltage compensating circuit is coupled to the summing node for adjusting the intercept of the pressure-to-output voltage transfer curve. The gain of the second operational amplifier determines the slope of the curve.
