Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method and a device for managing transmission of cellular uplinks are provided to manage transmission of uplinks in an interference cell of a cellular wireless communication system. CONSTITUTION: A controller receives information(305). The controller determines whether a communication device transmits pending data using a data repetition mode(310). The controller determines a specific data repetition mode based on the size of an interference(320). The controller transmits a command to a communication device to transmit pending data using the specific data repetition mode.
Abstract:
A method, information processing system, and wireless communication system schedules transmission of data packets in a wireless communication network. At least one selected data packet to be retransmitted to at least one respective receiver (108) is identified. At least one respective selected data packet is scheduled for retransmission (620) in a set of available transmission slots to at least one respective receiver (108). The scheduling is performed prior to determining a failure of a previous communication of the selected data packet and in response to the identifying.
Abstract:
Various embodiments are described to address the need for a method and apparatus that could reduce the start-up delay for uplink data transfers in multiple-access technologies. A time-symbol threshold (551) is introduced for an uplink frame (550) in order to create a partition of the frame that includes the earlier of the available time symbols and in which any bandwidth request allocations may be placed. By placing bandwidth request allocations earlier in the uplink frame (i.e., at or before the time-symbol threshold), remote units are able to send their bandwidth requests to a scheduler sooner and thereby receive a bandwidth grant for an uplink data transfer with less delay.
Abstract:
A method and system for allocating an uplink control region (201) to both HARQ ACKCH and CQICH in order to maximize uplink bandwidth for data transfer in a communication network. A control region scheduling (CRS) utility (110) assigns (402) a higher priority to HARQ ACKCH relative to CQICH. When both HARQ ACKCH and CQICH are to be allocated for a subscriber (101-103) in the same region (201) in the same frame (200), HARQ ACKCH is allocated in the region while CQICH is rejected (406). As the substitute to the rejected CQICH, the CRS utility may use current uplink channel quality information in combination with the corresponding HARQ ACK transmission to estimate (407) a downlink channel quality for the subscriber. Upon receiving the HARQ ACK information, the CRS utility updates (409) the subscriber(s) uplink channel quality information. The CRS utility also may activate or de-activate the uplink control region sharing.
Abstract:
A wireless communication system (100) is provided that provides (404, 406) periodic channel quality feedback and adjusts (410) a channel condition reporting period for a subscriber station (101-115) based on the multiple channel condition information reports, such as CQI messages, received from the subscriber station.
