    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation format switch that is operated in many operating modes and realizes simplicity, miniaturization, reduction in the manufacturing cost, and enhancement of amplifier performance. SOLUTION: A modulation format switch (20) communicates a signal with an amplifier (15) and a load (25). The amplifier generates modulation format signals. The modulation format switch (20) includes at least one matching network (62, 100), that communicates a signal with the amplifier (15) and the load (25). At least one matching network can have impedance values corresponding to a plurality of the modulation format signals. Furthermore, the modulation format switch (20) also includes variable control elements (70, 72, 74, 76, 102) in the matching network (62, 100). The variable control elements (70, 72, 74, 76, 102) may have one or more impedance values.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear transmitter capable of maintaining satisfactory efficiency in various operating states by measuring channel power generated by the transmitter. SOLUTION: This device uses a transmitter 110 having a main local oscillator(LO) 124 and an offset voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) 122 for generating a carrier frequency. In a measuring mode, the frequency of LO 124 and VCO 122 is changed a little and on channel power and off channel power can be acquired. While using this power, it is discriminated whether the adjacent or substitutive channel leak power caused by non-linearity generable in a power amplifier 116 is settled within the range of a specification request or not. When converting the signals of on channel, adjacent channel and substitutive channel to a base band, a measurement calculator 185 loaded on a digital signal processor(DSP) 180 discriminates the adjacent and substitutive channel leakage power.
