Abstract:
A mobile communication system (100) includes an infrastructure (121) including at least a first base transceiver station (123) and a plurality of mobile stations (101, 103), wherein each of the mobile stations is operable to detect interference by jamming to a signal sent on a downlink channel by the first base transceiver station and, when it determines that such interference exists, to send a notification message to the infrastructure.

Also described is a mobile station (101) a base transceiver station (123) and a method (300, 400) of operation in the system 100.
Abstract:
A method of operation of a mobile communications system wherein an ID (identity) code of a current user of an user terminal is stored by and used in signalling by and/or to the terminal as a working ID address code of the terminal. The terminal may be a TETRA terminal, the method may include: (i) a user terminal sending to a fixed processor of the system infrastructure a signal including a user ID code identifying the current user of the terminal; (ii) the processor producing and sending to the terminal a signal instructing the terminal to begin an ID address conversion procedure; (iii) the terminal storing the user ID code for use as a working ID address in communications by the terminal. The terminals may comprise one or more mobile stations or one or more fixed terminals in combination. The communications may be wireless communications. The user terminal using the given ID address may be in trunked (TMO) or direct mode (DMO) of operation. ITSI attach signals, the ASSI (alias short subscriber identity) along with layer 2 and layer 3 signalling may also be used.
