The multi-zone heated hair appliance disclosed herein allows for styling of hair utilizing multiple different heating temperature levels without the need for repeated cool down or heat up periods when a different temperature is desired for a particular use during a styling session. More particularly, a heated member of the appliance is provided in which different heated temperature zones are provided. The multiple temperature zones may be simultaneously heated up to different temperatures. Thus, when a user desires a particular temperature for a particular styling technique the desired temperature is readily available by applying the hair to the desired temperature zone. In this manner multiple different styling temperatures are readily available without the need for waiting for the appliance to heat up or cool down.

An apparatus and method for an adjustable multi-barrel hair waving appliance is disclosed herein. The appliance has a plurality of barrels, at least one of which is an adjustable barrel, wherein the barrels are heated during use. In one embodiment two outer barrels and one adjustable center barrel are provided. The center barrel is manually adjusted to be closer or farther from a winged shield that clamps hair against the barrels and is formed to cradle the outer barrels. A locking mechanism locks the center barrel in place after adjustments are made via projections at an end of the center barrel. Adjusting the center barrel closer to the shield results in shallow or tight waves, and deep or loose waves result when the center barrel is adjusted farther from the shield.

An electronic palm-held hair trimmer has an ergonomically curved head with a trimmer housing that fits within a use's palm and fingers during use. The ergonomically curved head allows the user's hand to hold the hair trimmer in a manner that is generally perpendicular to the plane of the hair trimming mechanism during use. A detachable strap can be attached to clips on either side of the head for attaching to a use's hand to better support the hair trimmer. An On/OFF power button on the head is reachable by an index finger or middle finger of a use's hand while holding the hair trimmer in the palm of a use's hand. A turbo button is located with the power button, and allows for variable speeds of the trimming blades when activated. Attachments are provided for varying the amount of hair and length to be cut. The trimmer may be operated with a power cord or may include a rechargeable battery that is used as a power supply.

A brush member has two ends and includes a brush portion at one end, the brush portion including a plurality of bristles extending outwardly. A gripping member houses a motor and includes a drive rod connected to the shaft of the motor for rotatably driving the bristles, the brush member being detachably attached to the gripping member. A battery case houses a rechargeable battery and a recharging circuit for recharging the rechargeable battery. The battery case is detachably attached to the other end of the gripping member whereby electric power is provided from the battery to the motor for driving the motor. When travelling, the brush member, gripping member and battery case are detached from each other and are conveniently stored in a travel case.
