Abstract:
A water drain tank or channel module includes a structure having a top platen and a bottom platen, a plurality of generally vertical support members for supporting at least the top platen, the support members being retained in sockets on at least one of the bottom platen and the top platen, and optional side walls each including a water-permeable lattice member that is adapted to support an impermeable membrane or water-permeable geotextile material that is able of controlling the flow of drain water at least out of the module and restricting sediment from entering the module. An assembly of such modules to form a drain tank, channel or storage reservoir is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A ground electrode for a spark plug has a through hole located adjacent a firing end of the electrode, with a precious metal firing tip extending through the hole. The firing tip is compressed axially to define a bulging portion extending radially outwardly from its longitudinal axis to mechanically retain the firing tip within the through hole. The firing tip additionally has an enlarged head or otherwise expanded portion at each axial end of the tip to provide a second mechanical interlock of the tip to the ground electrode. The firing tip can then also be welded to further strengthen its connection to the ground electrode. A method of manufacturing the ground electrode and a spark plug containing the ground electrode is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of determining the respiratory function of a subject is disclosed, the method comprising measuring the concentration of water vapour in the gas stream exhaled by the subject, and from the measured water vapour concentration determining the respiratory function of the subject. Mathematical techniques for analyzing the data obtained from the measurement of concentrations of gaseous components in an exhaled gas stream are also disclosed and their use in determining the lung function of a subject.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for booting a system are provided. The apparatus may comprise a boot block and a baseboard management controller coupled together in the system. The baseboard management controller may be configured to receive a request from the boot block for a basic input/output system image; determine at least one location to access the basic input/output system image; and obtain the basic input/output system image from the at least one location.

Abstract:
A method of filling and sealing a gas capsule having (i) a hollow body portion and (ii) an elongate hollow neck portion having a free open distal end extending from the body portion is disclosed. The method is accomplished by applying a filling cap to the open end of the neck portion while evacuating the capsule and refilling with helium. Two crimping steps while pressure is maintained finishes the filling and sealing method.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling the volatility experienced by a grantor using a grantor retained annuity trust (GRAT) or the like provides a fund that may sell call spreads to the GRAT and shares in the fund to the grantor. Countervailing value movements in the fund and the value of the call spreads may be adjusted to control volatility and provide more certainty in the calculation of the grant annuity stream.
Abstract:
A sensor for sensing a target substance in a gas stream is provided, the sensor comprising: a sensing element disposed to be exposed to the gas stream, the sensing element comprising: a working electrode; a counter electrode; and a layer of ion exchange material extending between the working electrode and the counter electrode; whereby contact of the ion exchange layer with the gas stream forms an electrical contact between the working and counter electrodes.
