    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standard textile fabric which is quite effective, especially when layered with other textile fabrics for synergistic effect and enhancement of comfort, i.e. the textile fabric responsive to the change of ambient temperature by solving the problems wherein the standard textile fabric has properties set during fabric construction that are maintained despite changes in ambient conditions and physical activity. SOLUTION: The textile fabric has at least one raised surface incorporating multicomponent fibers formed of at least a first material and a second material disposed in side-by-side relationship. The first material and the second material exhibit specific thermal elongations, which cause the multicomponent fibers to bend or curl and reversibly recover in response to changes in temperature, thereby adjusting insulation performance of the textile fabric in response to ambient conditions.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant fabric for clothes, equipped with a fabric body of yarn composed of a flame retardant fabric and having a quality which is desirable for using it during exercise or vigorous exercise.
    SOLUTION: A fabric article 10 of knitted or woven construction with flame retardant interlaced yarns has a pile region, a raised region or a fleece region on its inner surface and a flame retardant coating 14 on its outer surface. The flame retardant coating 14 provides both flame retardancy and improved durability against pilling and fraying without substantial adverse effect on characteristics of the base fabric. A method of forming the fabric article is also described.
