    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning device and a spinning method, making shape of a fiber uniform while keeping high-speed property of spun yarn. SOLUTION: Tin 18 in melted state is put in a melting tank 10. A nozzle 12 illustrated in the figure 1 is provided in the bottom of the melting tank 10 and a pipe 14 for feeding melted glass is connected to the nozzle 12. The melted glass fed from the pipe 14 is injected from the nozzle 12 into the melting tank 10 at high speed and instantaneously solidified and formed in fibrous state and floated. When height (h) of liquid level of the melted tin is designed as 5 m and melted glass is injected under 1 MPa pressure from the nozzle 12 provided in the bottom of the melting tank 10, flow rate of the melted glass discharged from the nozzle 12 is kept at sub-flow rate. Therefore, shock wave does not occur and diameter of the solidified glass fiber is made uniform.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a proper heat insulation effect to liquid without a highcost/ weight heat insulation material. SOLUTION: When liquid is filled in a tank of honeycomb structure, since the temperature of the liquid is lower than that of the tank, the liquid contacting a metal part constituting the honeycomb or a wall surface is vaporized. However, in the structure according to this invention, the liquid vaporized remains in cells of the honeycomb. As a result, between the liquid and the tank wall surface, the gas phase is interposed substantially across the whole part therebetween. Since the heat transmission coefficient of gas is lower than that of liquid, the heat insulation effect is noticeably improved by the adoption of this structure.
