Abstract: The device comprises a first group of main electrodes A1, A2..., a second group of main electrodes B1, B2..., the electrodes of the first group being arranged so as to be placed between the configuration of individual electrodes of the second group in a plan view and the first and second groups enclosing a gaseous space, a plurality of groups of information-writing electrodes W1-1... at one extremity of the first group and of the second group of main electrodes parallel to these electrodes, the number of electrodes in the respective groups of write electrodes being the same and the corresponding respective electrodes of the write electrodes in the respective groups being linked, and a plurality of input shift electrodes S1... between the groups of write electrodes and the first and second groups of main electrodes in parallel with the electrodes of the groups of main electrodes so that the number of input shift electrodes between the groups of main electrodes and the various groups of the information write electrodes is different.
